For our third project with longtime clients, we were asked to design a weekend retreat that would contrast their historic main residence in the East Bay. Set in the untamed beauty of Pope Valley, this modern ranch is grounded in the valley’s rich history, while embracing a contemporary vision of rural living. The property includes a main house with a pool, a large barn, a boathouse on the lake, and a Western saloon, each structure designed to respond to the land’s natural contours and the family’s deep personal connection to this storied landscape.
