"Stone" #4339 designed by Carl Auböck. This timeless mid-century design was a favorite of Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius, who kept one on his desk along with several other Auböck-designed objects. It carries the Werkstätte Carl Auböck stamp on the leather cover.
Each stone is chosen on appearance, taking into account texture and form, they then cut a piece of genuine leather to size and stitch it on. Each one is embossed with the Auböck logo. Pieces are in continued production at the family-run Carl Auböck Werkstätte (workshop) in Vienna.
Please note: Auböck pieces are made by hand, each one will differ slightly. Imperfections such as small marks on the surface of this item are evidence of the handmade production process and should not be considered defects.
