"Alpha Garden of Paradise" Tumbler by Tatiana De Nicolay

siby J. & L. Lobmeyr

designed in 1952 & 2019, new

Austria

The "Alpha Garden of Paradise" tumbler in mouth-blown glass was designed as part of the Series 267 by Hans Harald Rath with clean lines for postwar families seeking simple elegance and practicality.  The "Garden of Paradise" collection designed by Tatiana De Nicolay evokes purity where exotic landscapes remain untouched. Perched on their branches, these birds of paradise enjoy the purity of clear water in their protected spaces. These delicate hand-painted designs in a delicate color palette inspire the respect of our natural environment.

The collection includes stackable tumblers in six different designs and a pitcher.  The shape of the cup and bowls was inspired by a medieval copper beaker at the MAK in Vienna. They are created in lead-free and ultra thin gossamer muslin.
