Peter Noever

Peter Noever (1941-) was born in Innsbruck, Austria and is an Austrian designer and curator of art, architecture, and the media. 

As early as the late 1960s, he was undertaking projects with progressive architects such as Hans Hollein, Walter Pichler, and others. In 1970, he brought Austria’s first concept store to life "Section N".  Before closing in 1987, the shop was a contact point and platform for contemporary design from all over the world.  From 1986 to 2011, Noever was artistic director and managing director of the MAK (Museum for Applied Arts) in Vienna.  In addition to his own design work, he also taught at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and was founder and editor-in-chief of the architecture magazine "Umriss".
